Two meetings a week · the Heights, Houston

Two nights a week.
One room, one book.

Both meetings work from the book Alcoholics Anonymous, both meet at St. Andrews in the Heights, and both are glad to see a newcomer. Come to either; come to both.

Drug Addicts Anonymous

Firing Line Group

Drug Addicts Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who have recovered from addiction and are committed to helping those who still suffer. We have recovered by using the Twelve Steps as outlined in the book of Alcoholics Anonymous.

“Your job now is to be at the place where you may be of maximum helpfulness to others, so never hesitate to go anywhere if you can be helpful. You should not hesitate to visit the most sordid spot on earth on such an errand. Keep on the firing line of life with these motives and God will keep you unharmed.”

An hour on a Monday night. The group takes its name from that line; the flyer is the leave-behind we hand out at Positive Recovery Centers, with a number to call or text.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Primary Purpose Group

An open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous: a line-by-line study of the book Alcoholics Anonymous, with a workbook. Each A.A. group ought to be a spiritual entity, having but one primary purpose — to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers.

“To show other alcoholics precisely how we have recovered is the main purpose of this book.”

Bring your Big Book — copies are available at the meeting. The flyer carries the group’s preamble and a map of the block.
